Fokis - A Walk Thru Myspace Vol. 2
Fokis "A Walk Thru Myspace Vol. 2" is a compilation style album that features various artist's and producers that Fokis met on Myspace and collaborated with. This is a pretty awesome album. Has great beats and a huge variety of rappers laying it down. Very well done, find the album download here. Here are a couple of my favorites. I think the first track, "Monumental" is straight up filth. The other two songs are pretty solid too.

Metric - Collect Call (Cosmonaut Grechko Version)
Not sure we really even have a genre for these recent tracks I have been posting. But who likes putting things in boxes anyway? Anyway, smooth new track from Metric. If anyone is looking for beats to spit verses over then look no further than these last couple tracks.

Such a smooth, laid-back track. Breakbot kills the remix. I could pretty much let this replay all day.
AMADOU & MARIAM - SABALI
Amadou & Mariam are a musical duo from Mali. The pair, known as "the blind couple from Mali" met at Mali's Institute for the Young Blind, and found they shared an interest in music. Amadou & Mariam produce music that mixes traditional Mali sound with rock guitars, Syrian violins, Cuban trumpets, Egyptian ney, Indian tablas and Dogon percussion. All these elements put together have been referred to as "Afro-blues". You may recognize this track from the new Nas and Damien Marley track.

Influences
A lot of people ask me why I have such a weird, eclectic taste in music. Why do I post things from techno to indie rock to hiphop? Well, I grew up with a mom that played nothing but old school soul from artists like Nina Simone, Sam Cooke, and the Temptations. In contrast to that was my dad who played guitar and was listening to Hendrix, The Doors, Zeppelin and Simon and Garfunkel. I grew up listening to so many varying styles of music, and from that what I have learned is music is what moves you. It is what makes you smile, what makes you sing along, and what makes you get up and dance. We don't expect everyone to like everything we throw up on here, but we post it for you guys. It is what moves us, and hopefully what might move some of you. So here is to music. Where it has come from and where it is going.
